forest park stretches from the residential west hills neighborhood to the north, parallel to the river.  there are vertical roads & precarious housing but these are outnumbered by the tall trees.

after dark, the radio towers on skyline drive are the only beacons in the big green night.

            the light rail train from the airport to downtown is usually swift though it is not necessarily direct. it does offer an opportunity to see the city, unadorned & occasionally self-conscious. patrons, who do sit backwards while moving forward, can become confused about the nature of motion & direction.

            the dividend of arriving at a destination, is pretending that it is for the first time & savoring the sensation of arrival.
